DIY #2 Make Up Display

Hello everybody!!

I kept on forgetting to post this :-( but here it is!!

I saw this post on Pinterest and fell in love with the idea of my make up being displayed and out of my way! Here's the link. I keep all of my make up in a bag or in a plastic box under my bed and always have to take it out in the mornings and it is annoying thing to do and I always end up digging my bag or box when I am looking for a specific color or brush.

So I was thinking the other day and remembered that I had an old erase board/cork board that I used to put up when I was living in dorms. I went down in my basement to see if it is possible for me to take everything apart so I can cover both boards with fabrics and put it all back together.... Here's the board that I had.

almost exactly like this but it had silver frame.

and guess what?!? It came apart easily! Whoo!!

So I looked through my craft supplies because I knew I had some magnets laying somewhere.
and I found 2 pencil holder and some sort of drawer organization crate they are perfect for my brushes! So I attached them to the board itself and behold..... my display that I love love love!!!!!

Once I move, I think I will put it either in my bathroom or next to the vanity that I wanna make....Only if I find a cute old chic table and turn that into a vanity!

What do you all think?!?

Are you going to make one today??

DIY # 7 T-shirt Bags

I really like the idea of reusable bags for shopping but I hate the boring Wegmans or Walmart bags... So I found this coooooool Pin

Follow this steps and you will end up with awesome Bags!!! I made 14!

This is from the same link that I linked above. Just click on the pinterest image and that will redirect you to the website with the steps instructions!

Here's the picture of all 14! So glad I did this!!

Heres the picture of one of my bag.... I love to dance and I loved this shirt but it got stains from the washing machine :-( But I am glad I kept this because now I have a bag and still be able to use it instead of wearing it!

DIY # 6 Laptop Sleeve

I brought a new Mac Laptop last October and I never brought a laptop sleeve for it.

Then I found this cool project

Although I made mine a little different....

I made the outside sleeve and made felt inside sleeve so I can "plush" up the protector for my beloved laptop.

I still need to add a button or something to fast the straps to the sleeve so my laptop won't fall out....

But what do you think?!?

The finish product.... kinda....

Laptop in the sleeve... still need to add some kind of holder for the straps... I think buttons or velcro??

Oh well I will decide later so meanwhile the straps will have to be put inside for now! But don't you love it?? I know I do!!

DIY # 5 52 Reasons Why I Love You Cards

I forgot to post this project as # 2 but whatever....

Orginally this idea is from pinterest: 52 Reasons Playing Card

If I had a boyfriend I would do this for him but since I don't have that special someone in my life, I decided to make one for my best friend for Valentine's Day since we are in the same boat. I made each note a little funny like "I love you because: You eat Tiramisu with me" (which is our favorite dessert when we get together!)

I made the notes in Illustrator and printed them and put them through scrapbook sticker machine thingy that my roommate have. (it is the most cool thing ever... it put sticky stuff on the back of the note and you can just put it wherever you want!)

Here's the finished product!

I love it!! My best friend loved it too!!

What did you all did for Valentine's Day??

DIY # 4 Pillow Covers

DIY # 4

Okay as I mentioned the story of how I came up with this Project... go to DIY # 4

I had some old nurse pants that was handed down to me from a family friend and of course I don't need them but since I do (try) to do some craft and sewing projects I decided to keep most of them as my fabrics.

I decided to use the light lime green, light blue, and dark blue pants to make the pillow covers.... I only did one and I am exhausted!! Haha!

So here is what I did:

I cut 2 squares and sew 2 sides individually so I can use it as the opening part of the pillow cover and sew both squares together on the other 3 sides. I also added 3 ties to the opening part so I can tie the cover together.

Then I added 3 felt flowers and added a bead to the middle of each flowers so they can be "real" flowers.

Here's the result!

One of the pillows from Ikea

The finished piece laid flat.
(I decided to have the ties on the side because I think it is kind of a fashion statement for the pillow instead of having them on the bottom.)

The cover on the pillow!

What do you think?!?

I LOVE it!!

Now I need to make 3 more!! I promise I will post a picture of them all!!

DIY # 3 Felt Flowers

DIY # 3

I saw this cute flowers made out of felt and since I am not a big fan of sewing, I thought this is really simple enough for me to make some.... or.... 10..... :-)

here's the link... Felted Flowers

Here's the picture.... in case you don't want to be redirected to the link above :-)

Pretty simple huh??

So I began to cut and sew a few then my roommate came home and asked if she could do some as well so I ended up with 25!!

I know it is only 11 in this picture but I actually have 25 of them!

NOW.... what do I do with them??

I decided that since I brought 4 pillows from Ikea a couple of years ago and never got around to get some covers for them.... so that gave me an idea for my DIY #4 project!

DIY #4 coming up!!!!
